Private room — Paris

The private room, usually just called a room, is standard vocabulary in Korean restaurants: an enclosed space for one party, where you can talk loudly, stay late and order without watching the rest of the floor. In Paris the fitting is rarer, constrained by the size of the premises, but it exists. This page lists the addresses that have one. It earns its keep in three situations: a team dinner, a birthday, or a working lunch where being overheard is a problem. Before booking, ask the questions that are never answered online — how many people actually fit, whether there is a minimum spend, how long the table is yours, and whether the room has extraction if meat is grilled in it. These conditions vary enormously, and a phone call is still the only reliable way to learn them.
