You order two or three dishes for everyone, add more as you go, and nobody has to commit to a single plate of their own. Table barbecue takes that format to its end — someone turns the meat, someone builds the ssam wraps, the conversation carries on around it. Fried chicken with beer, tteokbokki and savoury pancakes do the same job with less ceremony.
